The Bull Run Team
The Management at the Bull Run are hotel school graduates, some with over twenty years experience in restaurant management, including stints in the United Kingdom at top-notch establishments such as Putney Bridge Restaurant (Michelin Star), Oxo Tower Restaurant London and Café Flo.
The team is a staff of thirty people at any given time, and is assisted by two floor Managers . Many of the Bull Run’s kitchen and waitering staff have been with us since the Bull Run first opened our doors, and the camaraderie between the staff is palpable throughout the restaurant and adds human warmth to the overall good vibe of the Bull Run.
Management places ongoing staff training high on his list of professional priorities: we believe that a restaurant’s staff are only as good as their management has enabled them to be. Which is why, aside from the standard ongoing bi-monthly staff-training sessions, staff are trained in food, wine, whiskey and cigar tasting. Management has a ‘fatherly pride’ in their staff, and enjoys setting new benchmarks for them – management recently sent a group of staff on the Cape Wine Academy course and was pleased (but not surprised!) when they aced it with an average grade of 80% between them.
So at the Bull Run, when you ask your waiter for advice on a particular wine, dish or after-dinner cognac, you can rest assured that you are getting an informed and knowledgeable recommendation.
Having found in the Bull Run the perfect place of work, no member of the team is in a hurry to go anywhere else. Here, with our dedicated team, we spends many a happy shift, with the added bonus that our personal passions for fine wine, whiskey, cigars and good company are all simultaneously fulfilled. And if you ever wonder what Bull Run fare is gracing the management teams plate, you can bet your bottom dollar it’s a medium-rare rump steak – a standard Bull Run favourite - which we extol as ‘wholesome simple, honest food’!
Experience the Bull Run – for a wealth of good taste!
